Square, the San Francisco-based payments company founded and run by Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey, is launching a national ad campaign in the US Monday featuring six new television commercials.
I love Square’s product, and the ads are ok. Shot in the same verité style as Nikon, Google and other gadgety, tech brands that aim to appear more mainstream, they feature a mixture of life moments, some emotional, others not so much. Feels like there could be more screentime for the videos and more of an emotional punch.
That said, I”m encouraged by Square making ads and stepping up to a mainstream audience.
Pollstar releases some interesting data at the end of each year about concerts and ticket prices. Here, I’ve graphed some of the variables from their table on the top 20 worldwide tours of 2013. Interesting to see Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones as the oldie outliers.
